Share
If you've been searching for a Wellington nail salon that takes natural nail health seriously, Nails by Kirstie is worth your time. Rated 5.0 on Google, this Churton Park-based studio specialises exclusively in Bio Sculpture gel nails - a professional system designed to strengthen and protect your natural nails, not damage them.
No acrylics. No BIAB. No SNS. No extensions. Just healthy, long-lasting gel overlays on natural nails, applied in a relaxed one-on-one setting by a fully qualified Bio Sculpture technician with over four years of experience.
Here's everything you need to know before booking.

What Is Bio Sculpture and Why Does It Matter?
Most Wellington nail salons offer a mix of services: standard gel, BIAB (Builder in a Bottle), SNS powder, acrylic, or extensions. These systems typically require primers, dehydrators, or bonders applied directly to the natural nail to help the product adhere.
Bio Sculpture works differently. It's a professional gel system that bonds directly to the natural nail without any primers, dehydrators, or bonders. The formula is flexible - designed to move with the nail rather than against it, which means it's less prone to lifting, cracking, or causing damage over time.
For anyone with naturally weak, thin, or damaged nails, this distinction matters. Bio Sculpture is used by nail technicians worldwide specifically because it's one of the few professional gel systems designed to actively support nail health rather than simply sit on top of the nail.
It is also 100% vegan and cruelty-free, with no animal-derived ingredients and no animal testing - making it the natural choice for clients who want wellington nails that align with their values.
Why Nails by Kirstie Is Different from Other Wellington Nail Salons
Walking into a commercial nail salon means working around other clients, dealing with chemical smells, and sometimes feeling rushed through your appointment. Nails by Kirstie is a different experience.
Every appointment takes place at a private home studio in Churton Park. One client at a time. No distractions, no noise, no waiting. Kirstie takes the time to properly assess your nails, talk through the best approach for your nail type, and deliver a finish she's genuinely proud of.
That care shows in the results. Nails by Kirstie holds a 5.0 Google rating - the highest of any nail salon currently listed in the Wellington region - with clients consistently praising Kirstie's nail health knowledge and attention to detail.
"Another great visit. Kirstie did her magic and my nails look wonderful again. She takes the time to think about what is the healthiest options." - Susan K, Setmore review.
First-time clients are encouraged to book a New Client Consultation ($10, 30 minutes) before committing to a full appointment. It's a low-pressure way to meet Kirstie, see the studio, ask questions, and get a personalised assessment of your nails before spending a cent on a full service.

What to Expect at Your Appointment
For new clients, every appointment begins with a brief nail assessment. Kirstie will look at your nails, ask about your nail history, and confirm the right service for your situation. There's no pressure and no upselling.
The gel overlay process takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes from start to finish. Kirstie works methodically through each step - shaping, cuticle work, gentle buffing, base gel, strength layer, colour, and topcoat - with care taken at every stage. At the end of your appointment, she'll walk you through aftercare so your gel lasts as long as possible.
Most clients find their Bio Sculpture gel lasts 2-3 weeks before a fill or removal is needed.

Is Bio Sculpture Right for You?

It's not the right fit if you want acrylics, BIAB, SNS, or significant length added. Nails by Kirstie works exclusively with your natural nails as they are.
Not sure? The New Client Consultation ($10) is designed for exactly this situation. Kirstie will give you an honest assessment of whether Bio Sculpture suits your nails - no booking pressure either way.
