A Nail Salon Near Tawa, Without Going Into Town
Tawa has always been a bit its own thing. Far enough north that town feels like a genuine trip, close enough that you end up doing it anyway when you need something Tawa does not have. Nails is often one of those things.
Nails by Kirstie is about ten minutes south of Tawa, straight down State Highway 1 and off at Churton Park. Going that direction you are travelling against the morning commute, so it is an easy run rather than a sit in traffic. And when you arrive there is free parking directly outside the door, which is not a sentence you get to write about anywhere in the CBD.

What you are actually driving for
Ten minutes is a real ask, so it is fair to be clear about what is at the other end.
It is a one-on-one home studio. One chair, one client, nobody booked in alongside you and nobody waiting for your seat. That structure is the whole point — it means if you sit down and change your mind about a colour, we change it, and if your nails need repair work before anything goes on top, we do that first without it eating into your appointment.
I am fully Bio Sculpture qualified and work with that system exclusively. It bonds directly to the natural nail with no primers, dehydrators or bonders, stays flexible so it moves with the nail rather than cracking off, and it is vegan and cruelty-free throughout. Most clients get two to three weeks, plenty get longer.
Natural nails only — please check before you drive
This one matters more for Tawa clients than anyone, because it is the longest drive of my regular catchment and I would hate you to make it for nothing.
I work on natural nails only. No acrylics, no BIAB, no SNS, no extensions. I also cannot remove acrylic or BIAB — only gel. If you currently have something on your nails and are not certain what it is, message me a photo on Instagram before you book and I will tell you honestly whether I can help.

Worth booking a double, or making it count
Because it is a longer drive, Tawa clients tend to plan differently. A few things that help:
If you are due a removal as well as a new set, book the combined Gel Removal + Gel Overlay at $72 rather than two separate visits. It is one two-hour appointment instead of two trips down the motorway.
If you want nail art, flag it when you book so the time is allocated properly. Adding it on the day is possible but it depends what is behind me in the diary. And if you are coming after work, the Tuesday to Thursday evening slots run until 8:00pm.

Finding the studio
24 Foxham Terrace, Churton Park. Free off-street parking directly outside. It is a home studio so there is no signage — park up and come to the front door at your appointment time.
